This game offers a classic hex and counter wargaming experience. It meticulously simulates the 1939 Axis invasion of Poland by Germany and their Slovakian allies, providing players with an in-depth look at this historical conflict.
When delving into the gameplay, players will find themselves immersed in the strategic elements of the Axis invasion, with a sharp focus on military maneuvers and tactical decisions. It's important to note that the game concentrates solely on the Axis invasion and does not delve into the nuances of the Soviet invasion.
Players have the option to engage in multiplayer mode through "hotseat" functionality or challenge themselves by playing either side against a computer-controlled opponent. This flexibility adds depth to the gaming experience.
The core gameplay involves strategically moving military units across a detailed map of Poland. The map is structured into hexes, which play a crucial role in governing unit movement. By selecting a unit, players can view highlighted yellow hexes indicating possible movement destinations. Combat situations arise when enemy units intersect, prompting strategic decision-making.
Each unit featured in the game represents authentic military formations from the 1939 era, ranging from divisions to brigades and army headquarters. The stacking mechanism allows players to position up to five units within a single hex, providing tactical advantages during gameplay. Rotating units within a hex is simple—just tap on the desired hex to adjust unit placement.
